About Us

Gfm is a not-for-profit community radio station run entirely by volunteers. We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a potential audience of 37,000 listeners. Our programmes cover a variety of different genres, local business and community issues, the local landscape and heritage, as well as output for and by young people.   Gfm provides a voice for individuals and organisations with over 60 different local community groups on air each year.

What’s it all about?

Gfm is ‘YOUR’  local radio station, here to serve the people of Glastonbury, Street and Wells.  The community groups within them, the businesses that want to advertise and the people who access the facilities in our areas.  We broadcast local news and community information and we leave the traffic and weather to those that do it well – your smartphones!

This is your radio station, if you are not hearing what you want then you know what you can do?…  just let us know or come on in and learn how to do it yourself.

Gfm can be heard on 107.1fm and broadcasts 24hrs a day and also online at: www.gfm.org.uk

There are so many ways you can get involved.  It’s not just about being a DJ,  you don’t even need to know about music!  Gfm support community events such as the Wells Moat Boat Race, Glastonbury Frost Fayre, Carnivals, Glastonbury Calling music festival and many more.  We are always looking for people with time on their hands to do things from collecting and setting up PA equipment, taking the microphone at an outdoor event, producing a programme, maintaining the website… and the list goes on! click here:
